Spain Holiday Rentals for a historical glance at the Iberian Peninsula

With its rich tapestry of history documented from very early times, is it no wonder people travel the world over to enjoy their SPAIN HOLIDAY RENTALS here? The Iberian land became a region of the Roman Empire known as Hispania after a long and hard invasion. Throughout the early middle Ages, Spain came under Germanic rule but later it was frustrated by Muslim attackers. It was a very long and fitful process but the Christian kingdoms in the north gradually rolled back Muslim rule, and in 1492, it finally eliminated its last occupiers in Granada; in the same year Columbus reached the Americas. Spain became the strongest kingdom in Europe and it began a global empire. It was the world leading power in the 16th century and first half of the 17th century. The republic of Spain was returned in 1978 to the form of a parliamentary constitutional kingdom. Spain joined in the European Union in 1986, experiencing a cultural revival and consistent economic growth.
