The Red Fortress of Granada on your Spain Holiday
The Alhambra, which means "red" in Arabic, is the best representation of Moorish architecture in the world and the palace and fortress is a fantastic place to visit on your HOLIDAY IN SPAIN. Sabika hill complex overlooks the city of Granada in southern Spain. The Alhambra, Generalife and medieval Arab enclave Albayzín have been recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites since 1994. When it was built, the Alhambra was known as Al-Andalus. It occupies a terrace near the south of Granada. Despite using the residence of the Muslim rulers of Granada, Emperor Charles V also built a palace during the Renaissance within the Alhambra complex.
