Nearly all families enjoy their primary Christmas meal on Christmas Eve before they attend midnight Mass that is also called The Mass of the Rooster: La Misa del Gallo. It's called this because it is thought that the rooster crowed during the evening that Jesus was born. After Mass the folks walk down the streets playing guitars and drums, wishing everybody a Merry Christmas.
