Owners Direct for Sangria: the blood of Spain

Invited to the table by the pool, OWNERS DIRECT their guests usually to a large table where a pot of sweet sangria sits waiting to be poured into the glasses. Sangria in the Spanish dictionary usually refers to a burnt red colour. The word itself comes from the Latin for blood but can also refer to a deep red, pink or light reddish brown. It is a popular beverage in the Iberian Peninsula which has existed since the dawn of time, or at least since the arrival of the Romans and introduced vine trees. There was a time when a group of tourists who arrived to their hotel will be greeted with an offer of sangria, red or white wine and soft drinks for children in the group as a tradition.
