Cathedral (Le Seu), Mallorca - Spain

A bit of heaven in a gothic setting....that is the first impression anyone gets when they visit the Cathedral (Le Seu), Mallorca in Spain. This majestic and towering cathedral makes a stunning silhouette with the serene scenic backdrop it adorns it really is a must-see for people touring Spain. Originally it begun in 1229 by King James I of Aragon, this gothic Roman Catholic cathedral which attained completion by 1601, stands testimony to the resilient and artistic people of Mallorca. The uniqueness of Cathedral (Le Seu), Mallorca lies in the fact that it has engravings of skulls and crossbones which are traditionally never a part of church architecture. The heavenly light that comes flooding through the stained glass windows in the cathedral is breath taking and plays beautifully on the church’s columns. This really is a wonderful visual treat and definitely an opportunity for shutterbugs. This church was restored in 1901 by Antoni Gaudi who provided his artistic touch to the already spectacular interiors. Mallorca holiday rental apartments are available close to this fantastic attraction
