Soller Railway (tren de soller), Mallorca – Spain

Soller Railway (tren de soller) is very popular with day trippers arriving by vintage train from Palma. It is located in a lush valley of orange groves between the sea and mountains. Journey by train is very delightful as you pass through amazing scenic countryside. You can take amazing photographs of the countryside and the breathe taking scenery that’s on offer here. The train in itself is a real attraction. There are many fairs and festivals hosted here, running all throughout the year and you will be well entertained for the duration of your holiday. The biggest festival on the calendar is Moros y Cristianos Firo & Fira, which happens every second week of May. This festival commemorates the 1561 battle between local townspeople and pirates. Some of the events you will enjoy include concerts, battle re-enactment and dances taking place at the beaches of Port de Soller. Other festivals are Saint Joan on June 23rd and Saint Pere on June 29th commonly known as the patron saint of fishermen. Aside from the festivals you can also visit architectural gems, the natural science museum and Can Prunera art gallery, which features international artists like Rusinol, Matisse, Picasso. There are many fantastic hotels and villas for rent in Mallorca suiting all budgets. Therefore where to stay will not be a problem at all.
