Things to see at Parc Natural de Mondrago, Mallorca

Parc Natural de Mondrago is situated in Spain's Mallorca region and covers 766 of hectares; 95 of these hectares are for public use and the rest are privately owned for crop cultivation. The park surface is made up of stony and parched fields. The dry climate in the region creates dry soil and makes it ideal for scrublands with olive groves being dominant. Other tree species found here include Aleppo, mastic, mock privet, rockrose, lavender and rosemary. Inside the park there are also different species of orchids like giant orchids, pyramidal, serapias and other ophrys species. Whilst visiting the park you will see several types of mammals like the Hedgehog from Algeria, weasels, Genets and marten pines, Small rodents like European rabbits, hares from Liberia and the wooden mouse and dormouse. For bird lovers this is also a fantastic spot as Parc Natural de Mondrago offers a variety of birds for your pleasure; stone curlew, wooden pigeons, turtledoves, kestrel, hoopoe and the great tit bird species.
